THE ENCHANTED YEARS OF THE STAGE
at Festival Hill, Round Top!
After
two weighty Forums -- 2012's forum on Ibsen and Strindberg with wonderful guest artist
Gunner Edendar, followed by German Theatre from Goethe to Brecht in 2013--a breath of
fresh air wafts over Festival Hill as we turn to The Enchanted Years of the
Stage: American Theatre from 1870-1930. The title is borrowed from Felicia
Londre's prize-winning book of the same name, and the Forum will open with her
summary of the extraordinary the years that took American theatre from
Melodramas, olios and minstrelsy, through the experiments of Eugene O'Neill and
the Gershwin brothers into the realism of the twentieth century. Watch for
